Paul has been at the forefront of hard dance consistently since he was dubbed 'one of clubland’s hottest properties' at the tender age of 16. Since then, he has continued to be one of the most respected producers on the scene, going under a number of successful guises, such as Abandon, Azure, O.G.R, Barely Legal (with Guyver) and Olive Grooves, and has collaborated on dozens of all-conquering anthems with the biggest and best in hard dance music.

Maddox enjoyed massive mainstream success and BBC 1FM airplay with his Azure creations, resulting in remix requests from the chart-topping Data and Positiva labels. The latter released a memorable rework of Ferry Corsten’s ‘Rock Your Body, Rock’ anthem which opened the on-fire youngster up to a whole new audience.

Another musical venture, Spektre - the result of a collaboration with Filthy Rich, has seen his work released on Renaissance and Umek compilations, with support from DJs such as Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire and James Zabiela.

Rob Jones


With a classical music background, a degree in music and sound recording and nearly 10 years of professional production experience, certified trainer and head tutor Rob Jones is suitably qualified for his role as core course creator at Producertech.

Rob has been fully immersed in music since a very early age, having played a number of instruments and being involved in professional musical theatre, choral and operatic organisations throughout his youth. He is a classically trained musician, with piano as his primary instrument, and obtained a degree in music and sound recording (the prestigious Tonmeister course) from the University of Surrey.

During the emergence of big beat in the late nineties, Rob focussed increasingly on electronic music, beginning to dabble in production and becoming a resident DJ at various nightclubs. Having honed his skills both at University and in the studios in London where he carried out technical work, a unique style of production of predmoninantly breaks and house began to evolve. A number of tracks were released on various labels, including Lot49, Dead Famous and Erase, under the artist name Anarchy Rice.

Rob has been at the forefront of music software training since the very beginning, having kicked things off at Focusrite back in 2006. After leaving the company, he helped to set up Producertech Ltd., namely by creating online schools for Live, Logic and Reason, and then a string of courses on other music software programs. With both classical music and technical sound qualifications, as well as a wealth of presenting experience, he is ideally suited to the role of an online music trainer, and is 100% dedicated to sharing his knowledge and assisting others with what he believes to be one of the most rewarding things in life - making music!

Pioneering electronic producer Alex Melia AKA Reso has been blending heightened technological futurism with dancefloor prowess to create a densely cinematic musical universe for approaching a decade. His name signals effortlessly intricate programming taking in myriad sounds and stimuli with dynamic and intelligent structure.

Reso’s deep musicality, incredible production and wildly diverse references have placed him at the top of a new breed of electronic producers. Championed by musical luminaries as varied as The Prodigy, Skrillex, Skream and Zane Lowe, Reso has engineeried tracks for Burial and Jamie Woon, collaborated with Rusko, Traveled to Cuba with Norman Jay (MBE) and remixed renouned artists as diverse as Wiley, Carl Cox, Animals As Leaders, Becky Hill, DJ Kentaro, Om Unit, KOAN Sound, Oliver Heldens, Drop The Lime and Buraka Som Systema amongst others.

‘Tangram’ Reso’s much anticipated debut album was released on the Civil Music imprint in 2012 and received heavy support across a broad range of international outlets including Mixmag (Album of the month), XLR8R, The Guardian, FACT, Resident Advisor and NME. A landmark thirteen track odyssey, Tangram reaffirmed the place of the ‘album’ within modern electronic music and cemented Reso as one of the worlds most forward thinking producers.

A long standing member of the Civil Music roster, Reso joined the ranks of Hospital Records and March 2014 saw the release of his ‘Pulse Code EP’ on the pioneering Drum n Bass label. Previous Hospital outings include “Voices of a Distant Star”, drum-step funfest “Slap Chop” and more recently glimmering synth stepper “Kamina” on Hospitals ‘We Are 18’ Project.

His is highly anticipated second album will arrive on Hospital Records in March 2015. Emotive and unique, Reso’s new rhythmic possibilities are regualary showcased in both mixes for BBC Radio1 & 1XTra, XFM, Solid Steel, Electronic Explorations, Red Bull Music Academy and NME and in performances at 10daysoff, Global Gathering, Bestival, Roskilde, Glade, Fabric and many more of the worlds best clubs and festivals.

Defazed is one of the most varied producers out there, making cutting edge glitch hop and neurofunk drum and bass, as well as dubstep under his FracTroniX alias. With immense technical ability in sound design and a mastery of Logic Pro, Defazed's tutorials are always of the highest quality.

Rich's musical career began when he picked up the electric guitar at the age of 16. After a couple of years playing in metal bands, he became more interested in electronic music and started experimenting with FL Studio (Fruity Loops). He went on to study a BA in Creative Music Technology at Bath Spa University and graduated in 2004. Rich then started producing electronic music under the name Defazed. Over the next few years, he built a following in the underground dance scene with several 12" and digital releases. He is well-known for his Ableton Live performances.

In 2009, he took on a teaching role at one of the UK's leading Music Technology colleges, dBs Music, teaching Sound Engineering, Electronic Music Production and DJing. During this time, he became a fully qualified teacher, gaining a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (Cert Ed) and 3 years teaching experience at BTEC and Degree level. Whilst at dBs Music, he was regarded as the go-to guy for dance music production and a Logic Pro expert. He was a key player in developing a new BTEC course specifically aimed at electronic music production and went on to author 3 HND courses, which are now fully up and running.

He continues to produce the most fiercely experimental and cutting-edge electronic music, mainly focusing on the Defazed project, with an ever-growing portfolio of releases that push the boundaries of music production and sound design within the Drum and Bass sub-genre Neurofunk. His other music project, Metaphra, is a bass-driven downtempo/psy-dub act with a female vocalist, having released a full album in 2011 and performed at many festivals and events. Rich also works as a freelance sound designer, creating sample packs and synth patches for Sample Magic. Rich's first FracTroniX course for Producertech was released in January 2013 and he continues to develop new courses aimed at specific electronic music genres and software platforms.

DJ Fracture


Charlie Fieber aka DJ Fracture is a hugely respected figure in the drum and bass scene. The current label boss of Astrophonica has seen his music released on legendary labels such as Metalheadz and Hospital Records. His Ableton Live and Maschine courses give a unique insight into his production methods.

Charlie Fieber has recorded electronic music under the names Fracture and Compound One for the last 12 years. He is most well known for his Drum & Bass work, which started back in 2001 with his first record on Droppin' Science as Fracture & Neptune. Since then, he has recorded with many labels including Metalheadz, Exit and Hospital and toured all over the world. He now runs his own label, Astrophonica, and has no plans to stop doing what he does. It's far too late for that now, he's in it for the long haul!

Outside of releasing electronic music, he composes and produces for film and TV, and has also taught music technology at higher education level. He has always been very interested in how music can help people go on to great things, and has been involved in community music and arts projects around London. His most recent ventures into tutorial-making have allowed him to further spread this ethos and share his passion and enthusiasm with the world at large!

Simon Shackleton


Simon is a hugely experienced DJ and producer, with over 20 highly successful years in the industry. Having produced under a variety of aliases, notably as Elite Force and Zodiac Cartel, he has rocked dancefloors with his unique blend of Tech Funk, Electro and Breaks. His more recent efforts, however, are on a deeper, more melodic tip!

Simon Shackleton is a hugely prolific, award-winning electronic musician and DJ with 20 successful years in the industry, under a number of different guises. Simon’s music has appeared on Hollywood Blockbusters, million-selling console-games, and sound-tracks many of the world’s biggest club floors with his unique brand of emotive house & techno on a weekly basis.

Simon’s career began way back in his Acid-House-era University days where he studied classical composition and edited the Monthly Campus-wide Magazine with a staff of 15. A chance meeting with a young Thom Yorke led him not only to cutting his first vinyl (these 7”s now go for hundreds of pounds), but also paved the way for a DJ  & music production career now going 24 years strong. His debut show was to 1200 people, playing a wildly eclectic blend of styles & sounds for 5 hours straight. That was before he owned a set of decks.

Over the past two decades he has run multiple award-winning record labels, including StereophoenixU&A and Fused & Bruised, whilst finding time to headline festivals from the US to Australia and cause dancefloor bedlam anywhere from Canada to mainland China. He can also look with serious satisfaction on a career in film and TV that has seen his music appear on movies such as The Matrix and Charlie’s Angels, whilst Wipeout, Motorstorm and most recently Driveclub are all #1-selling console games that he has soundtracked.

He has previously soared with aliases such as  Elite Force, Zodiac Cartel, and Lunatic Calm, but he is now increasingly renowned and respected for his outstanding, and often heroically long, House & Techno DJ sets under his own name. His One Series events (One DJ, One Room, All Night) epitomize his passionate and community-orientated spirit, cultivating a devoted following of participants and creative collaborators around the world.

Nicholas D'Ombrain


As the Head Engineer at Zeigeist Mastering, Nicholas has over 17 years experience in the industry, and has worked with big names such as Alex Smoke, Orbital and Sascha Braemer. With a deep understanding of the world of mastering, Nicholas makes an excellent tutor on the subject.

The Head Engineer at Zeitgeist Mastering - Nicholas D’Ombrain - has over 17 years experience in the industry, and in this time he has worked for major production studios around the globe, including Universal & EMI, as well as being responsible for several international independent record labels. Nicholas is connected to well-renowned studios in London and several of the big guns around Berlin, including Manmade Mastering, so is well versed in studio life!

Starting as a Sound and Lighting tech for his father's Theatre way back in 1996, the seed for his technology-based career was planted very early on. In 2002, Nicholas completed an Advanced Diploma in Sound Engineering at RMIT in Melbourne, and during this time, he worked for RMITV Channel 31 TV as their Chief Sound Engineer and Station Manager. Soon after, he gained employment at Rutledge Audio Visual Engineering, where he learnt the ins and outs of studio builds, acoustics and major installations. After 4 years of combining this with his own work as a studio technician and producer, Nicholas decided to move to London to gain real music industry experience and worked alongside studios such as LOT49 Recordings / Vibrate Studios. In addition, he worked as a Sound Engineer at gigs, festivals and events all over the U.K. to help fund his hardware addiction. Eventually his passion for electronic music led him to the vibrant place now considered home – Berlin - where Mastering Audio for local record labels became the major focus, as he took pointers from some of the leading figures in the industry. Since then, he has not looked back and has worked with names such as Alex Smoke, Paul Hartnoll (Orbital) and Sascha Braemer to name a few.

Nicholas has an intense passion for getting the best possible results and is keen to satisfy by maintaining a sympathetic and understanding approach. His experience and client list is now extensive and his dedication to the art is genuine. DJ and producer Dale Anderson has worked in the industry since 1998, specialising in house music. With releases on iconic labels such as Defected and Ministry of Sound, and a string of Beatport top 10 hits, it fair to say Dale is something of an expert when it comes to house.

From humble beginnings as the drummer in an alt/pop rock band, to achieving international success as a DJ and critical acclaim as an electronic producer, Dale continues to travel the world on a nomadic musical adventure.

Since 1998 Dale has been working as a DJ and producer in the house scene. His records have been featured in every major dance music publication from DJ Mag to iDJ, DMC and M8, and have appeared on multiple compilations including Ministry of Sound, Renaissance, Defected and Armada. His work with legendary label Global Underground includes an artist album (along with Anil Chawla), several top ten Beatport hits (including Leftorium and Minimalize), a GU Classics compilation and the first ever GU Loopmasters pack.

These days, Dale is producing for labels like Kaiserdisco's KD Music, Fergie's Tribal Rage and a host of others. Alongside this, Dale produces music for television and film. His latest venture into the realm of tutorial-making, which he is clearly a natural at, has sent him on a quest to share the secrets to producing the hits he's had over the years, as well as those made by others, with the Producertech community.

Dodge and Fuski are a household name in the dubstep scene, with their Disciple Recordings label having released music from stalwarts of the genre, such as Barely Alive, Datsik and Pegboard Nerds. Renowned for their own ferocious productions, DnF member Rob Talbott has a wealth of knowledge to share in his tutorials.

Brighton based Jay Pulman, aka CAPSUN is gaining a growing reputation for his laid back and ethereal trap influenced productions, evidenced by releases on labels such as Stripes Records, Youtellme and electronic music giants All Trap Music. With a background in singing, producing and DJing, he certainly has an eye for a catchy melody, and a sub shaking bassline.
