All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is remix a track by up and coming band Hello 4am. Hello 4am are a transatlantic alt-pop duo consisting of Branden Oak and Jess Burchett.
They met as students studying at Elon University in North Carolina and formed a writing partnership. After Oak’s year abroad ended, he moved back to his native England and resumed collaborating with Burchett sending ideas back and forth over the internet.
They released their debut album ‘dreaming of u’ in 2020 and followed it up with their EP ‘Good Things are Coming’ in 2022. The band’s influences include The Japanese House, Maggie Rogers, and PREP + HONNE.
Somewhere With You
With a beautiful vocal and lots of lush, interesting elements, Somewhere With You lends itself to a multitude of genre possibilities. Will you slow things down and add some trap bass? How about a Funky House take or a dirty DnB bomb?
As always, we’re completely open to whatever style of remix you want to make, it’s all about creativity.
How to enter
To enter the competition you have to be a Producertech Member. If you’re not already a member, you can start a free trial here.
Once you're a member, create a profile on our Community Site (you’ll be asked to do this once you’ve signed up to the membership) - You’ll need one to submit your track.
The competition is open to any genre or style but we’ll be looking at the following:
- Originality/Creativity
- Arrangement Skills
- Mixdown/Production Quality
- Musicality
When you’re happy with your track, upload it to your profile on the community site, ready for judging - make sure you include Hello 4am in your track title. Then do a post on the Remix Comp thread in the forum.
