FAQs

7 DAYS FAST TRACK FAQs

When and how often are Producertech Fast Track courses?

The first course will start on Monday 20th Feb 2023 (and run till Sunday 26th Feb). At the moment, the week-long courses will be happening once a month. When all slots are filled, the date on the details page will change to the following month.

How hard is the Fast Track course and is it suitable for beginners?

It is 100% designed for beginners. The idea of the course is to take people with no knowledge or experience in music production and help them to make a track in 7 days.

What do I get if I enrol on a Producertech 7 Days Fast Track course?

You get access to Producertech's 7 Days Fast Track plan, which is a week-long course consisting of around an hour of tutorials every day, including projects, written notes and samples. In addition, you will be granted access to 3 hour-long Zoom sessions (at the start, middle and end of the week) for realtime interaction and assistance. You also have the option of submitting your completed track for feedback at the end of the week or soon after. Finally, you get 3 additional courses to help develop your understanding of several key areas, for watching during the week or after. These courses and the 7-day plan amount to over 13 hours of lessons in total, which are yours for life!

What equipment do I need for the Fast Track course?

A device so you can get online to attend Zoom events and the Producertech website. Ideally a computer so you can try out apps like Loopcloud, free music software or potentially 90-day free trials of DAWs such as Ableton Live or Logic Pro. Of the two DAWs, Ableton is recommended as this is the software shown on the course.

What else can I do to prepare for the Fast Track course?

You can enrol on our Getting Started course, which is completely free and designed to help total beginners learn some of the absolute basics of production. Click here to enrol.

GENERAL FAQs

Can I download the videos?

The course videos are only available through streaming, as written on the course page, so that you can view the course anywhere at any time, as long as you have internet access. Some courses come with bonus files such as notes, projects, presets and samples that are downloadable.

How do I purchase a course?

On the course page or individual course info pages, click buy, then check out. You'll be prompted to create an account or log in if you already have one. Next, you can choose to pay for the course via Paypal or Stripe for card payments. After purchase, your course(s) will be immediately accessible in your account.

I am not sure if my internet connection is fast enough for me to watch the videos; what can I do?

Our courses are converted to file sizes that are compatible with download rates that are well below the international average (22Mbps), as they only require a speed of up to 1Mbps. If you want to check what your download speed is, there are many websites that provide a facility for that, such as fast.com. Note that moving nearer to your router will improve your download speed, or of course connecting to it with an ethernet cable as a last resort. You should easily be able to watch our videos with either the wifi in your house or the internet on your mobile device.

I'm getting an error message when I try to watch the videos - can you help?

Here are a few tips that should help you watch the videos properly:

1. Make sure your computer and your internet browser are up to date
2. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies
3. Make sure Flash is up to date (go here for that)
4. Try watching the videos in another internet browser, e.g. Firefox or Chrome
5. Try watching the videos on another device, e.g. Tablet or Phone.

Is there a time limit to watch the videos?

There is no time limit for any purchased courses, so you will have online access to lessons for as long as you need.

Is there a money back guarantee if I buy the online course and find it unsuitable for my needs?

The course page contains all the information and previewing options you need to get a good idea of the course content and delivery. If you read the module content and view the free videos you will be able to work out if the course is suitable for you. We decide on refunds on a case by case basis, but if you've watched a considerable number of the videos already then it is unlikely we will be able to offer you one.

It says the course comes with bonus files - where are they?

They appear as download links at the top of each course page.

I've got a question regarding the course content, who do I speak to?

You can email us at support@producertech.com, or use the Contact page to make an enquiry.

I've just purchased a course - how do I access it?

Log in and go to your account, then 'My Courses', where your courses will be listed.
